The McDonald Lectures in Theology, Ethics, and Public Life are held biennally at the University of Oxford. The McDonald Lecturer delivers a series of between four and six lectures, which will then form the basis of a monograph. During periods of residence in Oxford, he or she will make additional contributions to the life of the Centre, the Faculty, and the University—for example, by contributing to postgraduate and senior seminars.
2010-2011: Ethics, Society, and the Place of Truth
John Haldane, University of St Andrew’s, will deliver the next McDonald Lectures, 23 February to 10 March 2011.
2008-2009: Behaving in Public: Christian Ethics Outside the Church
Professor Nigel Biggar delivered the first series of McDonald Lectures in February 2009. A summary is available. An expanded version will be published by Eerdmans in 2010.
